For the second straight game, Chesterton will face off against Valparaiso. The Trojans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Vikings at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Chesterton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.

Chesterton came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Valparaiso, falling 10-2. The defeat continues a trend for the Trojans in their meetings with the Vikings: they've now lost six in a row.

For Valparaiso's part, Adler Holtz made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and only one walk). Those 11 strikeouts gave Holtz a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Trent Gill, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was DJ Malloy, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Valparaiso always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chesterton only posted an OBP of .276.

The win was the 13th in a row for Valparaiso, bringing their record up to 19-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Chesterton, their loss dropped their record down to 14-11.
