Volleyball Recap: Winchester Falls Short Against Ranked Lexington

Winchester faced Lexington in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Red & Black came up short against the Minutemen, falling 3-0. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 11, 2023, but that streak is no more.

While Winchester was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-16, 25-23.

Julien He paced Winchester's offense, picking up 11 kills. He got some help from David You and his 12 assists.

Among those leading the charge was Jacob Wall, who had 14 digs. Those 14 digs gave him a new career-high.

Winchester moved to 11-4 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak. As for Lexington, the win (which was their 15th in a row) raised their record to 15-1.

Winchester didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-2 defeat against Milford on the 14th. As for Lexington, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Belmont on the 14th.
