Softball Recap: Bay Has No Trouble Against Valley Forge

Bay hadn't beaten Valley Forge on the road since April 15, 2016 but that history sure didn't bother them on Monday. The Rockets were the clear victors by a 20-7 margin over the Patriots. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Rockets' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Julia Mavis was a standout: she scored four runs while going 3-for-5. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Olivia Stehlik, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4.

Bay was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .472. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Bay's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 2-3. As for Valley Forge, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.
