Baseball Recap: Marion Takes a Loss

Thursday just wasn't the day for Marion's offense. They came up short against the Green Sea Floyds Trojans on Thursday, falling 11-0. The Swamp Foxes haven't had much luck with the Trojans recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Marion saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Malachi Graham, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Graham is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Amari Green also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Marion's defeat dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Green Sea Floyds, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-10 record this season.

Marion will face off against Chesterfield at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Golden Rams will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last. As for Green Sea Floyds, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 5-3 loss against Lake View on the 1st.
