Kotzebue was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to the Nome-Beltz Nanooks. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

While Kotzebue was not able to win a set, they sure kept things interesting: every set was decided by exactly two points. The match finished with set scores of 28-26, 25-23.

Kotzebue's loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Nome-Beltz, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-11-2 record this season.
