Northwestern and Hayward are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2018, but likely not for long. The Tigers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Hurricanes at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Northwestern took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over St. Croix Falls.

Meanwhile, while Hayward put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Ladysmith. The Hurricanes blew past the Lumberjacks 13-0. The win continues a trend for the Hurricanes in their matchups with the Lumberjacks: they've now won nine in a row.

Hayward pushed their record up to 8-6 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Northwestern, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.
