Basketball Game Preview: Cornerstone Christian Academy Eagles vs. NELA Christian Homeschool Flame

The Cornerstone Christian Academy Eagles will take on the NELA Christian Homeschool Flame at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Cornerstone Christian Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Varsity Opponent, posting a 41-11 victory. The team ran away with 32 points in the first half and mostly just sat on those to pick up the win.

Cornerstone Christian Academy's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Kynnedy Newton, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 11 boards, and Caroline Newton, who posted 17 points and four steals. Kynnedy continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Claire Newton, who put up no points and seven steals.

Cornerstone Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in four consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only NELA Christian Homeschool walked away with it. They managed a 34-30 victory over the Storm last Friday. The Flame haven't had any issues with the Storm recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

NELA Christian Homeschool's victory bumped their record up to 18-1. As for Cornerstone Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 2-8.
