Basketball Recap: Joe Beltran Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Indio

Coachella Valley hadn't done well against Indio recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Coachella Valley Mighty Arabs walked away with a 48-36 win over the Indio Rajahs. This was a revenge game for the Mighty Arabs: when they faced off against the Rajahs last Tuesday, they had to take a 71-65 defeat.

Coachella Valley's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joe Beltran, who posted ten points in addition to seven steals and five boards. Those seven steals gave Beltran a new career-high. Israel Garcia was another key player, putting up 19 points and seven rebounds.

The win made it two in a row for Coachella Valley and bumps their season record up to 13-6. As for Indio, their loss dropped their record down to 4-14.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Coachella Valley will welcome Twentynine Palms at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Indio, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Yucca Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
