Baseball Recap: Clifton Takes a Loss

Clifton was the 8-4 winner over Eastside when they last played one another on Monday, but their luck changed this time around. The Mustangs fell 6-3 to the Ghosts on Wednesday.

Seth Porcelli was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed 4.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed since back in March.

On the hitting side, Clifton saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tony Morales, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Morales is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played.

Clifton has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Eastside, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clifton will welcome Kearny at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Eastside, they will host West Milford at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
