Softball Game Preview: Alief Hastings Bears vs. George Ranch Longhorns

The Alief Hastings Bears will face off against the George Ranch Longhorns at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Alief Hastings has given up an average of 10.9 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Alief Hastings' offense. They came up short against Foster on Tuesday, falling 18-0. The Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, while George Ranch put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Alief Taylor. George Ranch was the clear victor by a 15-0 margin over Alief Taylor. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Longhorns.

Ella Kolenko made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Kolenko was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, George Ranch got a massive performance out of Kamaryn Radford, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Macie Burks was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

George Ranch hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in four consecutive matches.

George Ranch's victory bumped their record up to 7-12-3. As for Alief Hastings, their loss dropped their record down to 2-11.
