Basketball Recap: Covington Academy Comes Up Short

Covington Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were dealt an 84-55 loss at the hands of the HALO Wolfpack. The Bulldogs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-20.

HALO got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Trenton Grissom out in front who dropped a double-double on 36 points and 13 rebounds. Grissom's evening made it 14 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Kenneth Haynes was another key player, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 22 boards.

Covington Academy now has a losing record at 6-7. As for HALO, their victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 10-11.

Covington Academy will be playing at home against Milledgeville Athletic Club at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Milledgeville Athletic Club knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matches -- so hopefully Covington Academy likes a good challenge. As for HALO, they will challenge Promise Prepatory Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in HALO's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games.
