Atascadero had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They had just enough and edged out the North Stars 22-20. For the Greyhounds, this counts as revenge for the 28-21 victory the Stars walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.

Damon Mitchell was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 73 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries.

When it comes to explaining why North lost on Friday, don't look at Gavin Schillizzi. Despite the final result, he rushed for 88 yards and one score. Bradley Dockery helped out on the ground, rushing for 94 yards and a rushing touchdown.

North's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Atascadero wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 26-14 defeat against Roosevelt on the 5th. As for North, they have also already played their next match, a 44-0 win against Delano on the 4th.
