It's playoff time, and Mountain Heritage had no trouble coming through when it counted. They walked away with a 55-45 win over the Union Academy Cardinals on Friday. Winning may never get old, but the Cougars sure are getting used to it with their 13th in a row.

Callie Capps went supernova for Mountain Heritage, going 8-for-15 on her way to 21 points and three steals. That's the most points Capps has posted since back in December of 2024. Lilly Neill was another key player, putting up nine points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Mountain Heritage smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in 26 consecutive games.

Union Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Laney Hildreth, who earned nine points. She is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ranon Suttle, who put up 16 points.

Mountain Heritage's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 25-3. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.4 points over those games. As for Union Academy, their defeat ended a 12-game streak of away wins and brought them to 22-3.

Mountain Heritage has already played their next contest, a 58-44 win against Avery County on the 4th. Union Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
