Perry hasn't had much luck on the road recently (they'd lost four straight dating back to last season) but thanks in part to Decorrion Daniels that streak is no more. The Panthers breezed past the Wayne County Yellow Jackets to the tune of 38-0 on Friday for which the team can thank Daniels, who rushed for 96 yards and three touchdowns. Perry is undefeated when Daniels posts two or more rushing touchdowns, but 0-3 otherwise.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Perry's defense and their three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Anteros Sims Jr., Noah Clark, and Jaheim Lester, who each picked up one sack apiece. Janaris Reeves was another major factor on D, making 11 total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Perry now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Wayne County, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.
Perry and Wayne County will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time the Panthers see the field they'll take on Ware County at 7:30 p.m. on the 17th. As for Wayne County, their break will end when they face Benedictine at 7:30 p.m. on the 17th.
