Alcona had already won 12 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.5 points) and they went ahead and made it 13 on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 40-37 victory over the Rogers City Hurons. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Tigers have posted since February 6, 2024.

Alcona got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ricky Schott out in front who went 5-for-11 on his way to 15 points and five rebounds. Schott continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Garrett Somers, who posted six points in addition to eight boards and eight steals.

Alcona smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in five consecutive matches.

Alcona's win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.3 points over those games. As for Rogers City, their loss dropped their record down to 12-6.

Coming up, Alcona is taking a road trip to square off against Oscoda at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Rogers City has already played their next contest (against Hale), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
