Softball Game Preview: Miami Eagles vs. Hume Hornets

The Miami Eagles will challenge the Hume Hornets at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Miami is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Miami came up short against Midway on Wednesday, falling 16-6.

Meanwhile, after only one run in their last contest, Hume made sure to put some runs up on the board against Lakeland on Tuesday. The Hornets blew past the Vikings 17-10.

Jaylin Toms made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Toms was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of her five plate appearances.

In other batting news, Hume let Kenzee Snider and Dalley Steuck run wild. Snider went 3-for-6 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI, while Steuck scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in five of her six plate appearances. Steuck also brought in an RBI, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Khloe Hubbard, who scored three runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

Miami's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Hume, their record now sits at 4-1.

Miami might still be hurting after the 30-13 loss they got from Hume in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
