Baseball Recap: Rutgers Prep Comes Up Short

Rutgers Prep lost against Pennington back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Argonauts fell just short of the Red Hawks by a score of 4-3. The Argonauts have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Rutgers Prep got a good showing from Peter Wheeler, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. That's the first time Wheeler hasn't allowed a single earned run since back in April.

On the hitting side, Rutgers Prep saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maddox Chu, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI.

Rutgers Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Pennington, they pushed their record up to 15-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rutgers Prep will square off against Somerville at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Pennington, they will take on Riverside at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Red Hawks are facing the Rams at the right time seeing as the Rams are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
