St. Croix Prep entered their tilt with New Life Academy on Friday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They strolled past the New Life Academy Eagles with points to spare, taking the game 75-58. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 177th, while the Eagles are ranked 408th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

St. Croix Prep pushed their record up to 10-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.3 points per game. As for New Life Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Croix Prep will welcome St. Croix Lutheran at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. St. Croix Lutheran knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully St. Croix Prep likes a good challenge. As for New Life Academy, they will challenge St. Agnes at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
