Soccer Game Preview: Caruthers vs. Liberty

The Caruthers Blue Raiders will head out on the road to face off against the Liberty Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Caruthers will be strutting in after a win while Liberty will be coming in after a loss.

Having struggled with 11 defeats in a row, Caruthers turned things around against Fresno Christian on Friday. They put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 4-1 victory.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, Liberty was not quite Riverdale's equal in the second half on Friday. They fell just short of the Cowboys by a score of 1-0. The Hawks have struggled against the Cowboys recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Liberty's loss dropped their record down to 4-9-3. As for Caruthers, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-12.

Caruthers took their victory against Liberty in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 4-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Caruthers since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
