Basketball Recap: Menomonie Skates Past St. Croix Central with Ease

On Saturday, the Menomonie Mustangs humbled the St. Croix Central Panthers with a 72-38 victory. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 119th, while the Panthers are ranked 257th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Menomonie has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.2 points over those games. St. Croix Central dropped their record down to 8-14 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

Menomonie has already played their next contest (against Onalaska), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for St. Croix Central, they will head out on the road to face off against Baldwin-Woodville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
