Baseball Recap: Madison Comes Up Short

After flying high against University School on Saturday, Madison came back down to earth. The Patriots fell 9-6 to the North Buncombe Black Hawks on Monday. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since March 18, 2024, but that streak is no more.

Max Shelton and Easton Greene did some serious damage despite the final result: Shelton went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI, while Greene went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Zane Buckner, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple.

Madison's loss dropped their record down to 12-8. As for North Buncombe, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-13.

Madison does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for North Buncombe, they will challenge Enka at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
