Softball Recap: Pottsville Takes a Loss

After flying high against Minersville on Wednesday, Pottsville came back down to earth. The Crimson Tide lost 12-2 to the Blue Mountain Eagles on Thursday. The Crimson Tide haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Jes Siminitus made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played.

Pottsville's defeat dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Blue Mountain, their record now sits at 12-5.

Looking ahead, Pottsville will host North Schuylkill at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Blue Mountain, they are taking a road trip to challenge Hamburg at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Hawks' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
