Recap: Golden Plains Bulldogs vs. Thunder Ridge Longhorns
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Golden Plains Bulldogs walked away with it. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 63-62 victory over the Longhorns. Despite the defeat, Thunder Ridge saw an underclassman step up: Evan Slavik dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. Golden Plains' victory bumped their record up to 7-14. As for Thunder Ridge, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-16.
Golden Plains will face off against Northern Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Northern Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four games -- so hopefully Golden Plains likes a good challenge.
