Gaston Day extended their postseason success on Saturday against St. Thomas More Academy. They skirted past the Chancellors 3-2. The win was nothing new for the Spartans as they're now sitting on five straight.

Gaston Day was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-16, 19-25, 25-19, 15-12.

Kendyl Taylor paced Gaston Day's offense, picking up 43 kills. Taylor got some help from Mary Ellen Lovelace and her 48 assists. Ava Blanton and Amelia Buie kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with three aces apiece.

Despite the loss, St. Thomas More Academy still got an impressive performance from Portia Hale, who had 52 digs and three assists. Hale has been hot, having posted 16 or more digs the last eight times she's played. Cecilia Dornan was another key player, getting 19 digs.

Gaston Day's victory bumped their record up to 21-4. As for St. Thomas More Academy, the loss snapped their winning streak at 19 matches and leaves them with a 23-2 record.

As of now, neither Gaston Day nor the Chancellors have any future games scheduled.
