Basketball Recap: Devon Aroner's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Millburn over Bloomfield

Millburn was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 47-44 heartbreaker at the hands of the Bloomfield Bengals. The game marked the Millers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Several Millers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Devon Aroner, who went 6-for-10 en route to 15 points. The dominant performance gave Aroner a new career-high in points. Chase Plotkin was another key player, dropping a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds.

Even though they lost, Millburn smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in five consecutive contests.

Millburn's defeat dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Bloomfield, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-8.

Millburn has already played their next matchup (against New Providence), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Bloomfield, they will square off against West Orange on February 27th.
