Darlington gets new coach.

Justin Worley were named
RivalsHigh's National Defensive and Offensive Player of the Year,
respectively.
It was each player's second national award, as Clowney
was named the USA Today Defensive Player of the Year and Worley was
named Gatorade's National Player of the Year.
Clowney, who won the
state's Mr. Football award, finished the season with 29.5 sacks. Worley
threw for 5,315 yards and 64 touchdowns as he led the Trojans to a state
championship.
DARLINGTON TO NAME NEW COACHFormer Kingstree High School coach Will Lampkin is expected to be named the new coach at
Darlington High School, according to reports from the Florence Morning News.
The announcement was supposed to be made at the most recent school board meeting, but inclement weather pushed the meeting back to Jan. 24.
Lampkin, who was 15-16 in three seasons at Kingstree, spent this past season as the defensive coordinator at Ridgeland. Lampkin will take over for Justin Danner, who stepped down in November after four seasons. Darlington has posted four straight losing seasons, including a 1-9 mark in the fall.
NATIONAL ALL-STAR GAME LOOKING AT OPTIONSMann (Greenville, S.C.)The Offense-Defense All-American Bowl was a success in Myrtle Beach, but that doesn't mean it will be back next year.
Artie Gigantino, the game's director, told the Myrtle Beach Sun News that Honolulu, San Diego, Dallas, Atlanta and Charlotte have inquired about hosting the game.
"Where the game will be, I don't know," he told the paper. "Hopefully, it's Myrtle Beach."
The hope is to get the game, which started in Miami and was played in Conway for three years before moving to Myrtle Beach, on a major network, Gigantino said.
