Softball Recap: Kenowa Hills Takes a Loss

Kenowa Hills had lost 18 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 1-20 to make it 19. They came up short against the Comstock Park Panthers, falling 17-3. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in June of 2019.

Kenowa Hills saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Josie Ouellette, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Comstock Park's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-11. Considering their hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

On Comstock Park's side, they got a massive performance out of Lilly Wollen, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those hits were Wollen's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Megan Pefley, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI.

While Kenowa Hills had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
