Preview: Terry Bulldogs vs. Hattiesburg Tigers
The Terry Bulldogs are on the road again on Wednesday and plays the Hattiesburg Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on February 7th. Hopefully Terry focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Monday.
Last Monday, Terry didn't have too much trouble with Pearl River Central on the road as they won 46-27. Given Terry's advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 40th, while Pearl River Central is ranked 226th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Terry found their leader in underclassman Madison Jones, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. Jones hasn't dropped below two blocks for five straight games. Elisiah Branson was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Hattiesburg's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They took a 46-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Forest Hill.
Terry is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season. As for Hattiesburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-9.
Terry came up short against Hattiesburg in their previous meeting two weeks ago, falling 51-46. Can Terry avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
