The Wheeler County Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 50-27 walloping at the hands of Telfair County. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Wheeler County of the 50-43 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Despite the defeat, Wheeler County saw an underclassman step up: Nikita James scored 17 points along with six rebounds.
Zah'Mya McDuffie continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Telfair County, scoring 30 points along with five steals. McDuffie is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Samantha Marshall, who scored a point along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Wheeler County's loss dropped their record down to 2-20. As for Telfair County, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-12.
