It's playoff time, and Kettle Run had no trouble coming through when it counted. They narrowly escaped with a  win as the  squad sidled past the Skyline Hawks  2-1. That's two games straight that the Cougars have won by  just one  run.
 Emerson Golden made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   tossing three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   three  hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-3 with one  run, one  double,  and one  RBI.
 Golden wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Addy Thomas, who  went 2-for-3 with one  double and one  RBI.
Kettle Run pushed their record up to 11-8 with the  victory, which was their third straight  at home. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for Skyline,  with the  loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-11.
 Looking ahead, Kettle Run will challenge Brentsville District at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Skyline does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
