Football Recap: Saegertown Comes Up Short

Saegertown lost against Cambridge Springs back in November of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Panthers received a blow as they fell 30-14 to the Devils.

When it comes to explaining why Saegertown lost, don't look at William Shaffer. Despite the final result, he threw for 116 yards and two TDs, and also rushed for 66 yards.

Cambridge Springs had a senior duo take command as Brett Kania rushed for 190 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 11.9 yards per carry and Brandon Hoover rushed for 151 yards and one score on only 15 carries. Those 151 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Hoover.

Saegertown's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Cambridge Springs, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Saegertown has already played their next matchup, a 48-10 victory against Union City on the 19th. As for Cambridge Springs, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 42-0 win against Iroquois on the 19th.
