Baseball Recap: Groveton Makes It Five in a Row on the Road

Groveton got themselves on the board against Colmesneil on Monday, but Colmesneil never followed suit. They blew past the Bulldogs 16-0. Considering the Indians have won 12 games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

CASH MOORE was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in February. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, DAX PARKER was a standout: he went 1-for-3 with one home run and five RBI. That home run marked the first that he launched this season. Another player making a difference was CADE WHITE, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Groveton pushed their record up to 17-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.6 runs over those games. As for Colmesneil, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season.

Groveton will have a chance to go back-to-back against Colmesneil: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
