Basketball Recap: Ferndale Takes a Loss

If Ferndale was feeling good fresh off their 61-27 takedown of Hyndman Charter School last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Ferndale Yellow Jackets took a 61-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Glendale Vikings.

Glendale was led to victory by Joey Kitko and Landen McGarvey. Kitko went 9-for-21 to rack up 24 points and eight boards, while McGarvey went 7-for-9 en route to 20 points and eight rebounds. The matchup was Kitko's third in a row with at least 18 points. Another player making a difference was David Frowner, who posted four points in addition to eight boards and three steals.

Ferndale's loss dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Glendale, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-15.

Ferndale has already played their next contest, a 79-34 defeat against Turkeyfoot Valley Area on the 13th. As for Glendale, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 68-48 loss against Southern Huntingdon County on the 10th.
