Softball Recap: Ralston Rams vs. Gross Catholic Cougars        
        
		
             Ralston's game  last Tuesday was a  loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them  on Thursday. They never let the Gross Catholic Cougars onto the board and left with  an   8-0  victory. Considering the Rams have won six matchups by more than seven  runs this season, Thursday's  blowout was nothing new.
  Makenzie Macrander made a splash no matter where she played. She  didn't allow a single  earned run while striking out ten over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in seven consecutive pitching appearances. She was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run and  stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.
 In other batting news,  Lucy Bodnar was  excellent,  going 1-for-3 with a  home run and two  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Maddy Vukov, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 1-for-2.
 Ralston's win was  their fifth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 8-4. As for Gross Catholic,  they are  on  a  five-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 4-10.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ralston will take on Ashland-Greenwood at 9:00  a.m.  on Saturday. Both  have allowed few  runs on average, (Ashland-Greenwood: 4.1, Ralston: 3.8) so any  runs scored will be well earned. As for Gross Catholic, they will venture away from home to  challenge Pius X  at 1:30  p.m.  on Saturday.
