Basketball Recap: Bethune Takes a Loss

If Bethune was feeling good fresh off their 48-14 takedown of Deer Trail last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bethune Bobcats had to suffer through a 59-16 loss at the hands of the Arickaree Bison. The matchup marked the Bobcats' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Josh Salinas was Bethune's leading scorer, having posted five points. Wyatt King held things down on the boards with five rebounds.

Austin Wright continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Arickaree, going 10 for 14 en route to 23 points and seven rebounds. Jake King was another key player, putting up six points in addition to 11 assists and five boards.

Bethune's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Arickaree, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3.

Bethune will be playing in front of their home fans against Genoa-Hugo/Karval at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Arickaree, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Denver Waldorf at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Denver Waldorf will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Arickaree surely won't give up without a fight.
