Basketball Recap: Freedom Takes a Loss

Freedom lost against Hillsborough back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Freedom Patriots took a blow against the Hillsborough Terriers, falling 54-21.

Hillsborough's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaylesia James led the charge by going 9 of 13 en route to 20 points along with eight rebounds and five blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexis Howard, who went 8 for 12 on her way to 17 points and six rebounds.

Freedom's defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Hillsborough, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 3-4 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Freedom and Brandon will face off at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played.
