Softball Game Preview: Satellite Scorpions vs. Braddock Bulldogs

The Satellite Scorpions will challenge the Braddock Bulldogs at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Satellite 3, Braddock 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Satellite is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Miami Christian just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Friday. They lost 8-1 to the Victors. The contest marked the Scorpions' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Satellite saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abigal Scaglione, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Braddock got themselves on the board against Miami Springs on Thursday, but Miami Springs never followed suit. They blew past the Golden Hawks 17-0. Considering the Bulldogs have won six matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Emily Cancio was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Anais Gonzalez, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Braddock always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .656. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Miami Springs only posted an OBP of .438.

Braddock's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Satellite, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-2.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Satellite has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Braddock struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
