Soccer Game Preview: Leonia vs. Wallington

The Leonia Lions will venture away from home to face off against the Wallington Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wallington is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.6 goals per game this season.

Leonia is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Northern Highlands just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Highlanders by a score of 3-2.

Meanwhile, Wallington earned a 3-1 win over NV - Old Tappan on Saturday. The victory was all the more spectacular given Wallington's disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey soccer rankings (they are ranked 136th, while NV - Old Tappan are ranked 49th).

Wallington has been performing well recently, winning five of their last six games. That run has powered them to a 5-1-1 record this season. Those wins came by way of their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 17 goals over those six contests. As for Leonia, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.
