Brookland-Cayce is 1-6 against Midland Valley since March of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. Brookland-Cayce was handed a 11-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Wednesday. They won by a run and slipped past South Aiken 6-5. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Bearcats as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Preston Coggins, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Bennett Plane, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Midland Valley came up short against Gray Collegiate Academy on Wednesday, falling 9-3. The loss continues a trend for the Mustangs in their meetings with the War Eagles: they've now lost four in a row.

Midland Valley now has a losing record of 2-3-1. As for Brookland-Cayce, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.

Brookland-Cayce suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Midland Valley when the teams last played back in March of 2019. Can Brookland-Cayce avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
