Basketball Recap: Garey Comes Up Short

Garey lost against Baldwin Park back in December of 2019 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Garey Vikings lost to the Baldwin Park Braves on the road by a 58-39 margin. The Vikings were down 46-24 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Baldwin Park's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Eric Avila, who went 10 of 17 en route to 27 points. The matchup was Avila's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Randle Tebo, who posted two points in addition to 11 rebounds, six steals, and five assists.

Garey has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-5 record this season. As for Baldwin Park, they pushed their record up to 10-8 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Garey will face off against Azusa at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Garey is facing Azusa at the right time seeing as Azusa is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Baldwin Park, they will head out to take on Duarte at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
