Softball Game Preview: Aletheia Christian Academy Lions vs. Central Christian Saints

Aletheia Christian Academy hasn't had much luck against Central Christian recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Lions will head out to face off against the Saints at 4:00 p.m. Aletheia Christian Academy has given up an average of 15.4 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Aletheia Christian Academy blew Lighthouse Private Christian Academy out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Tuesday Lighthouse Private Christian Academy got their revenge. The Lions fell just short of the Stingrays by a score of 13-11.

Shelby Carmack was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Abigail Finley, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Central Christian gave up the first runs last Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 12-8 win over West Florida Baptist Academy. Central Christian's victory was all the more impressive since the Conquerors were averaging only 3.42 runs allowed on the season.

Central Christian pushed their record up to 3-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 15.8 runs this season. As for Aletheia Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.

Aletheia Christian Academy suffered a grim 25-3 defeat to Central Christian in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Lions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
