Soccer Game Preview: Arcadia vs. Holmen

The Arcadia Raiders will head out to face off against the Holmen Vikings at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Arcadia managed to keep up with Washington until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Raiders came up short against the Panthers, falling 4-1.

Meanwhile, Holmen fell victim to Washington and their airtight defense on Saturday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers. While losing is never fun, Holmen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' soccer rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 86th in Wisconsin, while Washington are ranked 24th in Illinois).

Arcadia's defeat dropped their record down to 17-2-3. As for Holmen, their loss ended a three-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-7-1.

Arcadia took their victory against Holmen when the teams last played back in September by a conclusive 5-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Raiders since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
