Basketball Recap: Lakeside Takes a Loss

Lakeside's game on Thursday was all tied up 32-32 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 67-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Westminster Lions. The Lancers' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Despite the loss, Lakeside saw an underclassman step up: freshman Justin Jones posted 17 points. Those 17 points set a new season-high mark for Jones. Another player making a difference was Akilie Bridges, who had eight points.

Lakeside's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Westminster, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-6.

Lakeside will be playing in front of their home fans against Chaparral at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Lakeside is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56 points per game this season. As for Westminster, they will head out on the road to take on Buckley at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Buckley's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matchups.
