Recap: Jefferson Academy Jaguars vs. Stargate School Eagles
The Jefferson Academy Jaguars struggled with assists on Saturday (the Stargate School Eagles had ten more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Jefferson Academy fell 51-38 to Stargate School. It was the first time this season that Jefferson Academy let down their fans at home.
Jimeto Orji and Josh Neely certainly did their best on Saturday to try and avoid the loss. Orji scored nine points along with six rebounds, while Neely scored 13 points along with seven rebounds.
Jefferson Academy struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Leading Stargate School to victory were Dylan Perkins and Hunter Roark. Perkins scored 17 points along with six rebounds and two blocks, while Roark dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Perkins posted two or more blocks.
Jefferson Academy's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-4. As for Stargate School, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.
Jefferson Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Colorado Academy at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Colorado Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Jefferson Academy in Colorado (Colorado Academy is ranked 15th, while Jefferson Academy is ranked 184th). As for Stargate School, they will head out on the road to take on The Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
