Unicoi County is 8-2 against Volunteer since January of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Blue Devils are taking a road trip to square off against the Falcons at 8:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Volunteer will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Unicoi County extended their winning streak to four on Friday. The Blue Devils breezed past Johnson County to the tune of 76-43. Given the Blue Devils' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 110th, while the Longhorns are ranked 268th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

While Volunteer didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-20), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They were the clear victors by an 88-63 margin over Sullivan East on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won three in a row.

Volunteer's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Unicoi County, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.

Unicoi County was able to grind out a solid win over Volunteer in their previous matchup back in February, winning 57-49. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Devils since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
