Baseball Game Preview: King Wolves vs. Santiago Sharks

King hasn't had much luck against Santiago recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Wolves will head out to challenge the Sharks at 4:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Thursday just wasn't the day for King's offense. They lost 10-0 to Norco on Thursday. The Wolves just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.

Miles Swan was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

Meanwhile, Santiago hadn't done well against Corona recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Sharks skirted past the Panthers 1-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Sharks have posted against the Panthers since March 25, 2022.

Santiago's victory bumped their record up to 14-7. As for King, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-11.

King came up short against Santiago in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, falling 6-1. Can the Wolves avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
