Basketball Game Preview: Schaumburg Saxons vs. Palatine Pirates

The Schaumburg Saxons will square off against the Palatine Pirates at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Schaumburg is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Benet Academy just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Monday. The match between them and the Redwings didn't end well, with Schaumburg falling 62-43. The contest marked the Saxons' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Palatine earned a 64-56 victory over Glenbard West on Saturday.

Palatine has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.8 points per game. As for Schaumburg, their loss dropped their record down to 11-6.

Schaumburg ended up a good deal behind Palatine in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, losing 49-31. Can Schaumburg avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
