Softball Recap: Milford Scarlet Hawks vs. Grafton Gators
Milford's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Grafton Gators with a sharp 10-2 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Scarlet Hawks needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.
Avery Macchi was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high.
