Softball Recap: Lake Norman Beats Hickory Ridge for Their Fourth Straight Win

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Lake Norman ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Hickory Ridge Ragin' Bulls 16-15. The win was familiar territory for the Wildcats, who have now won four matchups in a row.

The team relied heavily on Kaylee Harris, who went 4-for-6 with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Olivia Wolf was another key player, going 1-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Lake Norman kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 24 hits. They are 8-2 when they post 11 or more hits.

Lake Norman pushed their record up to 12-8 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Hickory Ridge, with the loss, they broke their eight-game winning streak and moved their record to 16-3.
