Basketball Recap: Constitution Takes a Loss

Constitution played a tough match on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 70-49 to the Samuel Fels Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 83-64 back in December of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Constitution lost, don't look at Nick Young. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 15 points and 14 boards. Constitution is 5-1 when Young posts eight or more rebounds, but 8-9 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Alantay Dawson, who posted ten points and seven boards.

Constitution's loss dropped their record down to 13-10. As for Samuel Fels, they pushed their record up to 18-7 with the victory, which was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Constitution will face off against Sankofa Freedom Academy at 6:00 p.m. on February 21st. Sankofa Freedom Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Constitution likes a good challenge. Samuel Fels has already played their next game (against Audenried), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
